So it looks like whoever wins the election this week America will be a nation in need of healing.  Our prayer is that the nation will unite and find a positive way forward. To use a well worn phrase at the end of the day it really is not so much about the leader  or what it is they stand for as it is about how motivated , organised  and engaged in the community the local church is. World politics is increasingly corrupt. The underground church in China for example has learnt that even in the face of fierce persecution and government propaganda fervent prayer together with faithful attendance in the local church  confronts corruption and society is transformed by the gospel from the inside out.

If your candidate wins build the local church to be a voice and an instrument of accountability . If your candidate loses then build the local church to be a voice and an instrument of accountability. In other words the Church represents a kingdom that is not of this world. The Church is an instrument of Grace bringing light ,salt and salvation to a corrupt dying world. The nation where the Church is strong and working for revival is the nation that will shine and find healing.

May America know Gods peace and grace in this election week.
